Top 10

I was actually surprised after reading Huffington's Blog and discovering neither Maryland or Virginia are in the top ten for unemployment. No surprise there that D.C. made the list, everyone knows that just by visiting the city every once in while. If you are wondering why I would even question the top 10 it is because everyone is hurting with the economy. Northern Virginia may be booming with success but what about southern Virginia. The Appalachian mountains have been known to be one of the poorest areas in America, which is part of VA. Some of the states that made the list such as Florida, It makes sense. After growing up in a small town outside of Orlando, I quickly learned its a tourist state. Therefore when its not vacation season, There isn't much Florida can survive off of. My main question for everyone is, do you feel that the top 10 list is accurate?

  1. This is a good post to build a 2-parter off of. For example: why was Virginia not on the list, even considering southern Virginia and the Appalachians? It's mostly because of the innovations in Northern Virginia and Richmond. But dig into the issue...see what you find. I also wonder: why would Florida be on the list? Isn't it warm 11 months of the year? Vacationers come from around the world? Or are we lumping in all parts of Florida into the vacation mold?

In your posts, break the big paragraphs out into multiple ones, with a brief introduction, then the data, then a closing that suggests changes, provides food for thought, etc.
